Tributes for Ella Cook

The student Ella Cook, a sophomore from Alabama, was described as “an amazing, stable, pious, radiant soul”, as stated by the Birmingham's Cathedral Church of the Advent, which paid tribute to her at a service on Sunday.

Her role included vice-president of Brown’s chapter of the College Republicans organization, the group said. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also shared words of sorrow publicly, saying in part: “It's indescribable. Remembering her kin and peers, particularly her mother and father.”

MukhammadAziz Umurzokov

The other deceased individual was an Uzbek national named MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, a citizen of Uzbekistan in his first year of studies at the renowned school, family members said.

His name was officially acknowledged by Uzbekistan’s foreign ministry.

“He was incredibly kind, funny, and smart. He had big dreams of entering the field of neurosurgery and aiding others,” Samira Umurzokova, his sister said in a memorial statement.

Nine other people were injured in Saturday’s attack in the engineering department of Brown’s grounds in Providence, during the institution's end-of-term tests.

Officials stated late Sunday that a man aged 24 arrested in a search at a hotel about around 27 kilometers from the scene earlier in the day was released from custody.

“There is a killer at large,” stated Rhode Island’s attorney general, Peter Neronha.
