The Renowned Musician Encourages Public Help to Send Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Christmas No 1.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the top of the UK charts. The project seeks to deliver assistance to communities in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

A Chance for Support and an "Surprise Victory"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to stand with Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an surprise number one.

“It would be incredible if that happened, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely let down if it doesn't manage to, holiday tracks are a unique phenomenon.”

Defiant Message of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the reimagining of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.

“It has a profound significance for countless listeners,” Barghouti shared. “The message is that I would prefer a dignified death than live a life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we seek to lead a dignified life that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Featured Artists

The song was recorded after a solidarity show held in the autumn. Initially planned to be done as a live recording, the performance was omitted from the lengthy event due to time constraints.

The diverse array of musicians featured on Lullaby includes a range of well-known figures from the music world. All took part in the earlier concert, which successfully generated a significant sum for relief efforts.

Production and Release

Lullaby was produced by a group of talented individuals. The single features a fusion of the heritage language with freshly written English words.

The group managing the initiative have clarified that their goal is to generate maximum funds for a specific fund. These proceeds will be allocated to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an non-profit partner.

“We haven't set a specific target,” a representative explained. “We aim for as much as possible. Naturally, the more the merrier. All proceeds are directed out to the people of Gaza.”

The reality in the area was noted for its widespread damage, with a huge proportion of infrastructure described as levelled or seriously harmed.

“Given that reality, a few million is unlikely to make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is primarily making this cause better known and showing there’s another side to the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a complete film of the solidarity show will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from later in the month.
