The Reform UK leader Claims Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues

Nigel Farage has asserted that teachers would go on strike shortly after a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “harming young minds” by telling students that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

During an event for a private US Christian college, the politician expressed his perspective on the UK education system, claiming that the “Marxist left” had “taken over schooling”.

“I expect a walkout by educators very quickly after winning the next general election,” Farage commented in response to questions.

“They are corrupting young minds. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is an oppressor. They create division, not uniting us. They promote this harmful mindset.”

In response to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union dismissed the notion that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his political career on coded rhetoric and now, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their unions for a conflict,” Kebede stated.

“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would undermine state services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for education and children.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and seems not to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks suggested the group would reform the system and the curriculum. He said: “We have got a massive job with schooling – truly monumental. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “All I want education to do to teach critical thinking – to educate individuals that there are two points of view and you make up your own mind rather than what’s happening now where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in both Britain and America.”

Reform has previously clashed with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that our children should be poisoned through education, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and has argued that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has hundreds of thousands of members.

Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in recent years led to significant interruptions in schools and extensive missed instruction for students.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, adding that: “I mean this. I’ll assist garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of young people to your online courses. I pledge this now and I will follow through.”

The institution, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
