Ariana Grande visited Singapore for the international launch of Wicked: For Good

Devoted fans of the actress are calling for that a person who jumped a barricade and seized the celebrity during yesterday's Wicked: For Good launch be detained or expelled from Singapore.

A viral footage reveals the individual from Australia pushing past media personnel and lunging at Grande while the performers made its way down a event pathway surrounded by fans.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo immediately wrested the surprised star away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the premiere by security officers.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "released after being taken in", though court documents revealed that he was due to attend court on the following morning. It is uncertain if he was formally accused.

Record of Disruptions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has crashed a concert or event. His Instagram account features videos of him interrupting other star-studded functions, including rushing the platform at the artist's Sydney performance in earlier this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers performance in the city last year.

"Measures must be taken taken against him as this is evidently a punishable act," commented an Instagram user, in a reply to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" one Instagram user wrote.

Followers Voice Worry Over Ariana's Past Trauma

Several supporters blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had revealed dealing with PTSD after a devastating incident at the end of her spring 2017 show in Manchester, killing 22 people and harming hundreds.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" said one more comment on Instagram.

Several attendees also questioned guards at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while others called for social media platforms to ban Mr Wen's videos.

Aftermath and Premiere Information

In footage shared widely, Grande looked startled when she was approached by the intruder. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted consoling her while Mr Wen was escorted away by guards.

Grande has remained silent on the event, and the rest of the event proceeded as normal.

Hundreds of attendees had congregated in a crowd of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good international premiere in a Singapore venue, including some who had stood in line for as long as many hours before it began.

The movie, to be premiered on the 21st of November, is the second of a two-film version of the well-known Broadway and West End production Wicked, which centers on the surprising bond between two very different characters.

The production itself is a adaptation of the twentieth-century children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the good witch Glinda, was adorned in a rosé glittering gown at the premiere while Erivo, who plays the villainous character, wore a elegant ensemble featuring roses.

They were accompanied by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the highest-grossing motion picture of 2024 in the UK, and earned a dozen award recognitions, earning two for excellent wardrobe and artistic direction.
