First-choice Lineup

The goalkeeper Had little to do to make during the opening 45 but then forced to intervene by Arbër Hoxha’s curling effort. A sliding tackle on Qazim Laci highlighted his reading of the game. 6/10

The debutant Tested against the opposition's primary attacker in Hoxha. Started through the middle initially but moved out wide after Saka entered the fray. Seven

The defender Moved forward with the ball at his feet, something he's known for in the past. At times lacked urgency on the ball and the tactic abandoned by the interval. Six

Dan Burn A constant threat at set pieces, typically, perhaps is a replacement for his teammate at the back as opposed to alongside him. A careless pass after the break came close to a goal for the visitors. 6/10

Nico O’Reilly Another assured performance by the 20-year-old after his debut against another side. Saka did not capitalize on full advantage of a clever touch over the Albania defence. The left-back spot is his to lose at this stage. Seven

Adam Wharton His maiden beginning in an England shirt. Somewhat careless on the ball though his inswinging set-pieces were a threat. A useful game manager available to the coach to utilize against teams who drop deep. Booked for a poorly timed tackle. Six

Declan Rice Crosses from dead balls and set-plays caused problems. Had license to roam in left midfield only to be offside when the ball arrived with a chance to score. Awarded a well-earned rest on the hour mark. 6

The star midfielder Operated in an advanced role on the right and also did plenty of dirty work. Showed moments of class and mishit an effort high. Replaced in the closing stages by Rogers, a fellow player, after receiving a caution. 7/10

The winger Had England’s clearest opportunity of the first half, his effort excellently kept out from the opposing goalkeeper. With a teammate hanging back, he had to offer an outlet out wide yet his deliveries from wide areas were inconsistent. Substituted late in the match. 6/10

Harry Kane The difference-maker netting two more goals at international level. His first a classic poacher’s finish and his next a superb header after peeling away away from the opposition. At 32, he’s only getting better and England stand a real opportunity in the upcoming tournament with him up top. 8/10

The attacker Found it tough to get into the game out wide. Was presented with a good opening following a pass by Bellingham however Strakosha denied him. Rashford made much more of an impact after coming on. Five
